Introduction

2nd edition of the Bogd Khan Mountain Trail in the hilly grasslands around capital city Ulaanbaatar. Late July/early August is the best season to visit the lush green rolling grasslands of this remote but stunningly beautiful and mystical place. The 64k race has some elevation gain but will suit good runners as grasslands are open and runable.

Perhaps better known for its cyclists among endurance sports fans, Mongolia has a great team of ultra runners as well. Sadly, they do not often have a chance to compete abroad and this new event, organised by a Japanese team in conjunction with the Mongolia Ultrarunning Association and Carole Fuchs as race director, will be a highlight of their year.
