The Asia Trail Grandmasters

At the beginning of Season 10 in the Asia Trail Master series, there were three runners who have completed the fourth and last level of the Grandmaster Quest. Japanese runners Hisashi Kitamura and Masafumi Yamamoto were joined by the first female 4-Star Grandmaster Rhea Batac from Manila in the Philippines in July 2024.

They were joined by a third Japanese trail runner, Tomohiro Mizukoshi, at Lantau 70 in Hong Kong on 29 March 2025. Only five weeks later, Malaysia’s Munintaran Sundram completed his 20th ATM Ultra at the Philippine Mountain Trail Festival and became the first Golden Grandmaster in Malaysia. He was followed just a bit later at Trail des Gombak at the end of June by his compatriot Kenneth Mun Keat Yow. At the very end of August, Alfredo Reyes Jr from Mindanao in the south of the Philippines scored his 4th star. He actually managed to complete over ten ultras in just a year’s time.

Indonesia’s former ATM Champion (2018) Ruth Theresia was the second female Golden Grandmaster **** after completing Ultra Fish N Sheep in Hong Kong at the end of October 2025.

The full list of ATM Grandmasters has been updated following Izu Tral Journey in December 2025. The list will now be updated every month. As previously mentioned, due to the fact that event organisers all use different time-keeping and results producers it is difficult to keep track of each runner’s achievements.
